Welcome
to the Mt. San Antonio College Library.
For your convenience in using the library, we offer the following information.
- LIBRARY
CARDS:
- To check out materials, you must
present your Mt. San Antonio College picture identification card
with the current semester sticker affixed. The current semester
sticker must be obtained at the Bursar's
Office at the beginning of each semester. Only currently registered
students will be given library check-out privileges. Notify the
library immediately if your library card is lost, stolen, or if
you change your address.
CHECK-OUT
PERIOD:
- All books and pamphlets may be
checked out for 21 days. Currently registered students may check
out a maximum of seven (7) books. Community Service students, alumni,
college starters, and Inland Empire Academic Library Consortium
students may check out a maximum of three (3) books. The library
does not carry textbooks.
VIDEOS:
- The library checks out videos for
Distance Learning and some Math classes only. These videos may be
checked out by students having a Mt. SAC ID with the current semester
sticker. These videos are in the Media Services office located in
the library. The videos may be checked out for two (2) days. They
cannot be renewed or placed on hold. The maximum number of videos
that a student may check out is two (2). Overdue videos have a late
fee of $1.00 per day. The library also has a collection of over
5,000 videos which may be viewed in Media Services.
RENEWALS:
- Books that are not late and do
not have a hold placed on them may be renewed one time for an additional
21 days. Books may be renewed in person or by using the User Services
button located at the top of the Mt.
SAC Library catalog screen. Phone renewals will not be accepted.
Instructions on how to renew an item online are
located on the Library web page at http://library.mtsac.edu/renew.html.
PLACING
BOOKS ON HOLD:
- You may place a hold on a book
that is checked out. A book which has a hold placed on it cannot
be renewed. When the book is returned, you will be sent a letter
to notify you that a book is available. The book will be kept at
the check-out desk, with your name on it, for seven (7) days. At
the end of the seven days, the book will be re-shelved. Instructions
for placing an item on hold are located on the Library
web page at http://library.mtsac.edu/holds.html.
RETURN
OF MATERIALS:
- Library materials should be returned
to one of the two library book drops. One book drop is located OUTSIDE
the library entrance in the wall to the left of the doors. A drive-up
book drop is located behind the Information Kiosk near the main
college entrance off Grand Avenue. Materials may be placed in these
book drops 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These book drops are OPEN
during weekends, all semester breaks and on holidays. They are emptied
daily. Late materials may be returned to the check-out desk during
regular hours if you wish to pay the overdue fine at the time of
