Ever feel like your
computer is working against you instead of for you?
Well, we have the answer! Learn how
to search the Library Catalog, maneuver through the Periodical Databases,
and navigate the World Wide Web by consulting one-on-one with a Librarian.
Sessions are open to all students, faculty, and staff.
Sessions Available on:
Searching the Library Catalog: This session will teach you the secrets of making the most out of the
Library catalog, including how to locate materials in the library, how
to place a hold on any item that's currently checked out, renewing your
items from any computer with Internet access, and how to do advanced
searching to find what you're really looking for.
Introduction to Online Databases: This session will introduce you to a few of the Library's subscription
databases, including how to limit your search to journals only, how
to access the databases from home, and how to structure your search
to get the most out of your research time.
Navigating the 'Net: This session will begin to teach you how to navigate through the World
Wide Web, including how to make the most of your searching, which search
engines are most efficient, and how to properly evaluate the quality
and authority of the information that you find.
